UM780 XTX - Fully updated interfaces

UM780 XTX - Vollständig aktualisierte Schnittstellen

The EliteMini UM780 XTX is MINISFORUM's newest mini PC and one of the most powerful to date. Based on an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS APU, the mini PC supports DDR5 RAM, PCIe 4.0 SSDs and has an Oculink port for connecting eGPUs. Suitable for a variety of scenarios such as home, office and small business.

Considering the user experience and improving the convenience of home and work environment, Minisforum specially divided the USB ports on both sides. The different types of connectors are designed to make desktop organization easier, allowing users to reduce cable clutter and keep their desktops tidier.

Below we describe the various interfaces of the UM780 XTX in detail.

Dual network connection

Dual network port devices have obvious advantages in increasing network speed, improving office efficiency and realizing smart home.
1. Adapt to 1000M and 2000M bandwidth: Dual network port devices can make full use of high-speed carrier bandwidth to improve network transmission speed and meet the needs of large file transfer and HD video playback.
2. Improve wireless network experience: You can realize switching between wireless and wired networks, make full use of the NAS's 2.5G network port, improve overall network performance and increase office efficiency.
3. Cooperate with 2.5G switch to freely design intranet topology: They can be used with 2.5G switch to build a fast and stable intranet environment, convenient for business expansion and realization of smart Home functions is.

Oculink slots

The main application scenario for the OCuLink interface is to provide high-speed PCIe expandability between mobile devices and external devices such as external graphics cards, storage devices, network devices, etc. This allows mobile devices to gain more power and functionality when needed without having to change the internal structure and size. It also makes it easier to compatibility and connect external devices to different host devices without the need for additional converters or adapters.

Dual USB4 ports

USB4 is based on Thunderbolt 3, enabling bi-directional power transfer of up to 100 W and data transfer rates of up to 40 Gbit/s. This means you can transfer large files faster and charge your devices more efficiently. The dual USB4 ports provide expandability and compatibility, allowing you to easily connect a variety of external devices. In addition, the single cable for monitors can handle two 4K monitors or a single 8K monitor.

DP & HDMI ports

DP and HDMI are used as the most commonly used audio and video connection interfaces today, mainly to connect devices such as computers, game consoles and players.
Both the DP and HDMI interfaces support 4K resolution and high-quality audio transmission, however the DP interface has a higher bandwidth, resulting in higher frame rates.
When choosing an interface, please choose according to your equipment and personal needs. If you need to connect a computer and a monitor, the DP interface may be a better choice as it offers higher bandwidth and better compatibility.
If you need to connect a player or TV, the HDMI interface may be a more common choice as it has become the standard interface of many TVs and players.

4 * Type-A connectors

The Type-A port is currently the most common type of USB port with high transfer speed, compatibility, plug and play/hot swap and other advantages. It is widely used in various devices. Supports USB3.1 standard with transfer speed up to 10Gbps and backward compatible with USB2.0 and USB1.1, which is suitable for connecting new and old devices. In addition, the maximum power supply is up to 100W, which meets the needs of most devices.

There are other ways to use it and contributions are welcome!
